I. Visits / Excursions:

1.	An Educational visit of student-teachers along with faculty members to ADIT, G.J Patel Ayurveda College, Indukaka-Ipcowala College of Pharmacy, of New Vallabh Vidyanagar and Sardar Patel Memorial, Karamsad was organized on 20^th June, 2008.
2.	A team of Teacher Educators from Navrachana College of Education, Vadodara visited Waymade College on 27^th June, 2008.
3	An Educational visit of student-teachers along with faculty members to SPRERI and University Museum, Vallabh Vidyanagar was organized on 11^th July, 2008.
4	A group of student-teachers along with Dr Bharti Rathore visited Pavagarh, a place of religious, historical and cultural importance on December 4, 2008.
5	Student-teachers of Social Science, along with their method master, Ms.Varsha Thakker visited Swaminarayan Vidhyapith, Valasan on 11^th December, 2008.
6	An Educational visit of student-teachers along with faculty members to Science City, Ahmedabad and Akshardham, Gandhinagar was organised on 30^th December, 2008.
7	Four teachers from Amrit Vidhyalaya (kalol) visited WMCE to have guidance on teaching of social science from Ms. Varsha Thaker on 10^th January, 2009.

II. Other Activities:

1.	Results of student-teachers at the Annual Examination announced by S.P. University for the academic year 2007-2008. 66 student-teacher secured First Class with Distinction, 17 First Class, 10 Second Class and 3 Pass Class. Result was 100% .
2.	New Academic year commenced from 16^th June 2008.
3.	Peer Council was formed on 19^th June, 2008.
4.	A candidate (Ms. Arunduta R. Patel) under the guidance of Dr. Sulabha Natraj submitted M. Phil(ELT) Dissertation on the topic ‘Effectiveness of Authentic Materials to Develop Functional Competence for Standard VII Students-Second Language’ to S. P. University in June, 2008.
5.	Dr. Sulabha Natraj was the Chief Guest at the valedictory function of a three-day training programme for secondary school teachers of Khambhat Taluka, Khambhat College of Education, Khambhat Kedavni Mandal on 11^th July, 2008.
6.	Selection of peer leaders and Election of the General Secretary was done on 14^th July, 2008. Mr. Shimbhu Shekhavat was elected as the General Secretary.
7.	Dr. Sulabha Natraj rendered services as a mentor at a three-day Karmayogi Talim for Principals of Colleges of Kutchch and Saurashtra Universities from 25^th July to 27^th July, 2008.
8.	Dr. Sulabha Natraj delivered a Talk to the faculty of N & A Arts College on “Quality in Education and Excellence in Education” on 8^th August, 2008.
9.	Dr. Sulabha Natraj addressed the parents of the students at Kalrav School, on “Significance of English in 21^st Century on 9^th August, 2008.
10.	An Exhibition on “India’s Freedom Movement” was organised by Social Studies Club of the College from 4th September to 6^th September 2008.
11.	Dr. Sulabha Natraj, Ms. Rachna Patel and Ms. Varsha Thaker went for EI Project (3rd visit) to Bhagwati international Public School, Patan on 21^st and 22^nd October, 2008.
12.	Dr. Sulabha Natraj Chaired a meeting of Board of Studies at S.P. University on 2^nd December, 2008.
13	Waymade College of Education experimented with Open Book Examination for all Methods. This examination was conducted during 20^th and 22^nd September, 2008.
14	Dr. Sulabha Natraj conducted a series of lectures for the students of M. Phil. At HMPIETR during October-November 2008.
15	Dr. Sulabha Natraj chaired a session on ‘Female Foeticide’, in a State Level Seminar at I.J. Patel B.Ed. College, Mogri on 12^th October, 2008.
16	Dr. Sulabha Natraj was a part of the NCTE inspection team for Colleges of Education in Madhya Pradesh.
17	Dr. Sulabha Natraj conducted a series of lectures for lecturers of Engineering Colleges of S. P. University on “Language in Communication” during November-December 2008.
18	MITRA sessions with the objective of helping needy students started from 22^nd December, 2008 and will continue till their Annual Examination.
19	A "Sanskrit Sambhasanam Shibir" was jointly organized by Waymade College of Education and Sanskrit Bharti from 22^nd December, 2008 to 5^th January, 2009.
20	Community Outreach Programme was conducted by the students of WMCE in Mahivas and Ambikavas throughout the year 2008-09.
21	Official launching of the Women Development Cell was done on 23^rd january, 2009. Prof. Rema Subhas, Head of Home Science, Department of S.P. University and the director of Women Studies Cell of S.P.University was the Chairperson.
22	Dr. Sulabh Natraj participated at the Regional consultative meet for National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education, IASE, Hydrabad from 29^th to 30^th January, 2009.
23	Dr. Sulabha Natraj presented the Summative Report of the EI Project on “Teacher Effectiveness Enhancement programme (TEEP)” for Bhagwati International Public School, Patan before the Trustees on 2^nd Feb, 2009.
24	Dr. Sualbha Natraj presided over the valedictory session of a One Day State Level Seminar on “Hanging Business Communication in the Knowledge Era” at C. P. Patel and F. H. Shah Commerce College, Anand on 4^th Feb, 2009.
25	Women Development Cell at the College launched “Women Empowerment through English”, a resource book to learn English authored by Dr. Sulabha Natraj and Ms. Deepalee Mahida on 7^th Feb, 2009. Ms. Nusrat Kadri, Principal of I.J Patel College of Education, Mogari was the chairperson of the programme.
26	Dr. Sulabha Natraj visited 5 Colleges of S. P. University as a member of the peer team to inspect the institutions as a part of Swarnim Gujarat (NAAC) Celebrations from 7^th Feb, 2009 to 12^th Feb, 2009.
27	Student-teachers along with faculty members took out an Awareness Rally on 4^th March, 2009.
28	Annual review cum planning meeting held on 1^st April, 2009 to overview the activities and programmes conducted during the academic year 2008 - 09 and to plan commencing academic year.
29	Researcher's forum held on 4^th April, 2009. Ms. Rucha Desai faculty of Mathematics of WMCE presented Ph. D. proposal on "Designing, Developing and Implementing an Educational Programme on Child Rights".
30	A workshop on ‘Training & Development and ICT in Education’ for Alumni was held on 19^th April, 2009. 25 Alumni attended the workshop.
31	5th Annual Day Celebrations held on 20 March, 2008 wherein Dr. Bhalendu Vaishnav, Chairperson, Sri Aurobindo Chair of Integral studies, Sardar Patel University blessed the teachers-to-be. College Magazine "Roots & Wings" launched.
32	98 students appeared at the Annual University Examination: 76 passed First Class with Distinction, 18 in First Class and 04 in Second Class. Ms Aartiba Ravalji was awarded the C L Patel Anupam Gold Medal for securing the highest marks at the final external examination of Sardar Patel University in the academic year 2087-09.

2.	Different clubs of Waymade College of Education launched Newsletters. Enviro-Nuts club and Sunshine club came out with seven editions of Newsletter.
3.	The Waymade College English club launched four issues of Newsletter called “Way Made to English”.
4.	WMCE’s ECom Club came out with three issues of Newsletter.
5.	Sanskrit club launched its Newsletter.
6.	Social Science club launched its Newsletter.
7	Mathematics club launched two newsletters.

7	Dr. Sulabha Natraj conducted interviews for CVM’s V. C. Patel English Medium School on 10^th Feb, 2009.
8	Campus Interviews were conducted by Shreevallabh Ashram’s Residential School, Valsad and SKR Memorial School, Kachchh and Kripalu Vidya Mandir, Panchmahal and Nalanda International School, Vadodara on 10^th February, 2009.
9	Campus Interviews were conducted by Vatsalya International school, Borsad and Omkar English Medium School, Bhavnagar on 2^ndMarch, 2009.

2.	Dr. Sulabha Natraj attended a three-day Karmayogi Training Programme for the Principals at Ganpat University, Kherva organized by Govt. of Gujarat from 5^th to 7^th July, 2008.
3.	10 student teachers attended the ‘Gandhi Katha’ by Mr. Narayanbhai Desai at Lion’s Hall, Anand from 19th December to 23^rd December, 2008.
4.	5 student teachers attended “Creativity Development Workshop” at N. H. Patel College, Anand on 24^th December, 2008.
5.	Dr. Sulabha Natraj attended a National Conference on "Renewing Teacher Education: Towards a Policy Initiative" organised by NCTE at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi during April 29-30 2009.

VI Workshops Conducted:

1.	A ten day programme on "Introduction to Computer and Microsoft Word” was held from 1^st May, 2008 to 10^th May, 2008 for the students of class IV employees of CVM where in Mr. Keval Thaker was the facilitator. Since it was a free of cost for participants a large number of students participated.
2.	A workshop on Leadership in ICT for the principals of various B. Ed. Colleges of Sardar Patel University was held on 29^th July, 2008 in Collaboration with INTEL.
3.	One day interactive workshop on Process Skills in Science for school teachers was organised by Science Club of the College on 2^nd August, 2008.
4.	Dr. Sulabha Natraj conducted the workshop on ‘English in the Knowledge Era: Pedagogies for Competence Development’ for Teachers of Katchch University at Tolani Commerce College, Adipur on 29^th and 30^th August, 2008.
5.	Dr. Sulabha Natraj along with Ms. Mohini Bachani and Ms. Rachna Patel conducted a three day workshop on ‘Current Trends in Classroom Interaction’ for the teachers of Vidyakunj High School, Navsari from 16^th to 18^th October, 2008.
6.	Dr. Sulabha Natraj along with Ms. Rachna Patel and Ms. Varsha Thaker visited Bhagvati International School, Patan on 21^st and 22^nd October, 2008 as part of the Teacher Enhancement Programme.
7	A workshop on “Recent Trends in Classroom Teaching" for Alumni was held on 13^th November, 2008. Alumni were presented with a CD of class room teaching learning material.
8	Mrs. Varsha Thaker gave guidance to teachers of Bhagwati International Public School, Patan.
9	Ms. Varsha Thaker conducted a workshop on Teaching of Social Studies for the teachers of Amrit Vidyalaya, Halol on 10^th January, 2009.
10	A workshop on Oral Communication Skills was conducted by the student-teachers of WMCE for students of Thamna Education Institute, Thamna on 3rd December, 2008 under the guidance of Dr. Bharti Rathore.
11	A workshop on Value Education was conducted by the student-teachers of WMCE for students of H. M. Patel English Medium School, Dharmaj on 6^th December, 2008 under the guidance of Mr. Rakesh Ranjan.

1.	WMCE offered a Certificate Course in Proficiency in English for the students of G. J. Patel Ayurveda College, New Vallabh Vidyanagar during 2008-2009. Dr. Bharti Rathore, Ms. Mohini Bachani, Mr. Rohit Valand, Mr. Rakesh Ranjan, Ms. Varsha Thaker and Ms. Shamsha Emanuel were the resource persons for this course.
2.	WMCE offered a Basic Course in Spoken English for the students of S.S.Patel College of Physical Education, Vallabh Vidyanagar during the month of February, 2009. Mr. Rakesh Ranjan coordinated the course.
3.	WMCE offered a course on ‘Language Enhancement and Personality Development Programme’ for the students of Anand Pharmacy College, Anand. Dr. Bharti Rathore, Ms. Mohini Bachani, Mr. Rohit Valand, Mr. Rakesh Ranjan Ms. Varsha Thaker and Ms. Shamsha Emanuel were the resource persons for this course.
4.	WMCE offered a course on Teaching Methodology for the post graduate students of Physiotherapy College Anand. Dr. Bharti Rathore, Ms. Mohini Bachani, and Ms. Shamsha Emanuel were the resource persons for this course.
5.	WMCE offered a ‘Course for Developing Communication Skills in English for Office Personnel’. Mr. Rohit Valand coordinated the course.

3.	Mr. Nilesh Patel and Mr. Pragnesh Kavaiya, Student-teachers of WMCE presented papers on ‘Role of Teacher in the 21^st Century’ at Anand Education College on 22^nd November, 2008.
4.	Seven student teachers participated in the state level seminar competition organized by Petlad Education Trust, Petlad on three themes- commerce, English and Technology on 3^rd January, 2009.
5.	Dr Bharti Rathore and Ms. Mohini Bachani presented a paper entitled ‘Challenges of Translating Poetry’ in an International Conference and Workshop on Translation jointly organized by Gujarat Sahitya Academy and H. M Patel Institute of English Training and Research during 9-11 January 2009.
6.	Mr. Rakesh Ranjan presented a paper on “Peace Education: What and How?” at the National Level Seminar at Navarachana College of Education, Baroda from 9^th January to 10^th January, 2009.
7	Ms. Shamsha Emanuel and Mr. Rakesh Ranjan presented a paper on “Sensitizing Students towards Peace Education: A Theoretical Perspective” at the National Level Seminar at Navarachana College of Education, Baroda from 9^th January to 10^th January, 2009.
8	Mr. Tanmay Naik and Mr. Nilesh Patel presented papers entitled ‘Listening Skill Development through Multimedia’ at the National Level Seminar on ‘Technology in ELT organized by Changa Institute, Changa on 29^th and 30^th January, 2009.
9	Ms. Shamsha Emanuel and Mr. Rakesh Ranjan presented a paper on “Problems and Issues of Teacher Education: Some Reflections” at the State Level Seminar on Effective Academic Management of Teacher Education at P.G. Department of Education, S.P.University from 2^ndMarch, 2009 to 4^th March, 2009.

13	Ms. Urvi Patel from Planet Education visited WMCE to deliver a talk about the scope of further education in Australia and other Commonwealth countries on 7^thJanuary, 2009.
14	A Training programme was organized on “First Aid” by a team of medical practitioners from Shree Krishna Hospital, Karmasad on 12^th January, 2009.

2.	Rangoli Competition (Theme: Independence day) was held on 12^th August, 2008 as a part of Independence Day Celebrations.
3.	‘ Boomerang’- A debate competition for school teachers in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association, Anand was organised at WMCE on 6^th September 2008.
4.	Poetry Recitation Competition was held on 11^th September, 2008.It was co-ordinated by Dr. Bharti Rathore and Ms. Mohini Bachani.
5.	Shloka Recitation Competition was held on 12^th September, 2008. It was co-ordinated by Mr. Rohit Valand.
6.	Carrom and Chess Competitions were held on 11^th September, 2008.
7	Many students participated in the Inter Collegiate Youth Festival of S.P. University in different events in September, 2008.
8	Pragnesh Kavaiya and Priyanka Jani participated in the debate Competition (Gujarati) on the topic ‘Role of Mass-Media in breaking joint Families’ at Dept. of Gujarati on 10^th December, 2008.
9	‘Kite Making Competition and preparing Best out of Waste’ Competition was held on 13^th January, 2009.
10	Seven students participated in Inter Collegiate Patriotic Song Competition (group & solo) at N. S. Patel Arts College, Anand on 26^th January, 2009.
11	Ms. Arwa Kashif and Mr. Nilesh Patel Participated in the Gandhi Quiz Competition at I. J. Patel B. Ed College, Mogri on 30^th January, 2009.
12	Inter Collegiate Volley Ball Tournament was held as a part of Swarnim Gujarat Celebration at Shastri Maidan on 6^th February, 2009.
13	State Level Essay Competition for the teachers and student-teachers of Gujarat was organized on 16^th February, 2009 as a part of Swarnim Gujarat Celebration.

9	Science week was Celebrated from 9^th February to 14^th February, 2009 by Sunshine Science Club and Enviro-Nuts Club.
10	WMCE celebrated Annual Sports Day on 6^th February, 2009 at Shastri Maidan.
11	Student-teachers celebrated Days like Appreciation Day, Peace Day, Green Day, etc. from 2^nd March, 2009 to 7^th March, 2009.

1.	Mr. Nilesh Patel won the Second prize in Solo Instrument at (Non percussion) in Inter Collegiate Youth Festival of Sardar Patel University held in September, 2008.
2.	Ms. Priyanka Jani won the first prize in the Debate Competition at Department og Gujarati on 10^th Dec, 2008.
3.	Three Students won the prize at the state level seminar competition organized by Petlad Education Trust, Petlad on three themes- commerce, English and Technology on 3^rd January, 2009. Commerce: Deepa – 2^nd position, Pragnesh – 3^rd position and English: Nilesh – 4^th position.
4.	Mr. Nilesh Patel and Ms. Arwa Kashif secured third position in the Gandhi Quiz Competition at I J. Patel B. Ed College, Mogri on 30^th Jan, 2009.
5.	Three student teachers Ms. Purbi Patel, Ms. Payal Shelat and Ms. Krishna Parikh won the awards for the Best Technology Integration in Education at the state level Competition in the year 2008-09.
